Workers' Compensation

Workers' Compensation FAQs

Answers to the questions we hear most from injured workers.

General Questions

What makes Mojave different from a typical workers' comp clinic?

We treat the physical injury and the emotional impact together, under one coordinated plan, rather than treating you as just an injured body part.

Do I have to report my injury right away?

Yes, as soon as possible — prompt reporting supports both your recovery and the strength of your claim.

Can I be treated here even if I haven't filed a claim yet?

In many cases, yes — contact our office to discuss your specific situation.

Treatment Questions

Will I automatically be assigned behavioral health care?

No — it's offered based on what your evaluation identifies as needed, not applied universally to every patient.

Do you prescribe or manage pain medication?

We don't manage medication for physical injury pain. We do provide psychiatric medication management for anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mental health conditions related to your injury, through our psychiatry team — those are treated as separate matters.

What kind of physical therapy will I receive?

This depends on your specific injury, evaluated and treated based on the physical demands of your job and the nature of your injury.

Work Status Questions

Who decides if I can return to work?

Your treating provider determines your work capacity and restrictions, based on physical evaluation and, when relevant, your emotional readiness to return.

Can my restrictions change over time?

Yes — restrictions are reassessed regularly and updated as your recovery progresses.

Claims and Insurance Questions

What if my claim is denied?

You typically have options to appeal — we can provide documentation from your care to support that process.

Who do I contact with billing questions about my claim?

Our billing team handles workers' compensation claims directly — reach out to our office for details specific to your case.

If your question isn't answered here, reach out directly — every workers' compensation case is different enough that a specific conversation is often the fastest way to a clear answer.
