Personal Injury Care
Medical evaluation, physical therapy, and behavioral health — the whole impact of the accident, addressed together.
The First 72 Hours Matter More Than You Think
After a car accident or personal injury, the decisions you make in the first days have a lasting impact on your recovery and your case. Pain and injury don't always show up immediately — adrenaline and the body's acute stress response mask symptoms in the moments after a crash, and soft tissue injuries in particular often worsen over the 24 to 72 hours that follow. The same is true emotionally: shock and adrenaline can mask anxiety, fear, and the early signs of trauma that surface once the initial crisis has passed.
Waiting to see if it "gets better on its own" — physically or emotionally — is one of the most common reasons a straightforward accident recovery turns into a complicated one.
Why Mojave Is Different From a Typical Accident Clinic
Most personal injury clinics treat the physical injury and stop there. Mojave evaluates and treats the full impact of an accident: a thorough medical evaluation, central nervous system (CNS)-based physical therapy specific to your injuries, and trauma-informed behavioral health support — including psychiatric care and medication management when a diagnosable condition like PTSD, anxiety, or depression develops from the accident.
This matters because accidents are not just physical events.
A significant number of people involved in a serious car accident develop real, diagnosable psychological symptoms in the weeks that follow — symptoms that go completely unaddressed at a clinic built only to evaluate bruises and strains.
What We Look For
A full musculoskeletal exam of the spine, neck, shoulders, hips, and any area of impact or seatbelt/airbag contact
Neurological screening for signs of concussion or nerve involvement
Screening for acute stress response and early trauma symptoms
Baseline documentation of range of motion, pain patterns, and function — the record your case may eventually depend on
A treatment plan built around your specific injuries and your specific emotional response, not a generic accident protocol
What We Don't Do
To be clear about our scope: we do not manage or prescribe pain medication for ongoing physical injury pain. That is separate from psychiatric medication management — our psychiatry team can evaluate and treat anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mental health conditions connected to the accident with medication when it's clinically appropriate. If physical pain medication is part of your care, prescribed by another provider, we coordinate around it rather than managing it ourselves.
How We Work With Your Case
We work with personal injury cases regularly and understand the clinical and documentation requirements involved.
Thorough, consistent records — visit by visit, across medical, PT, and behavioral health — are often what separates a case that settles fairly from one that doesn't, and we treat that documentation as part of your care.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to already feel anxious or traumatized to be seen for behavioral health?
No — we screen every accident patient for the emotional impact of the event, since symptoms often build gradually rather than appearing immediately.
Can you prescribe medication for my physical injury pain?
No — we don't manage pain medication for physical injury. We do provide psychiatric medication management for anxiety, PTSD, depression, or other mental health conditions connected to the accident, through our psychiatry team.
Do I need a referral or an attorney to be seen?
No — you can schedule directly with us. We're happy to coordinate with your attorney's office once you're established as a patient, if you have one.
Do not wait for symptoms to become severe before seeking care, and do not assume that because an ER scan came back clear, nothing was affected. The soft tissue, joints, nervous system, and mind are all part of what an accident can injure — and all part of what has to heal.
