Common Workplace Injuries We Treat
The physical injury, and everything that comes with it.
Why We Treat the Whole Picture
A workplace injury is a physical event with real emotional consequences. Whether it's a lifting injury, a fall, a repetitive strain condition, or a more serious traumatic accident, our evaluation looks at the full impact, not just the injured tissue.
Musculoskeletal Injuries
Lifting injuries, repetitive strain conditions, and falls make up the majority of workplace injuries we see. These are evaluated medically and treated through physical therapy specific to the injury and your job demands, the same way any thorough workers' compensation provider would approach them.
Traumatic and Higher-Severity Injuries
Falls from height, equipment or machinery accidents, and vehicle-related workplace injuries often carry both significant physical impact and a genuine psychological toll. These cases receive coordinated medical evaluation alongside trauma-informed behavioral health support from the start, rather than addressing the emotional impact only if it becomes disruptive later.
The Emotional Impact of Being Injured and Out of Work
- Anxiety about returning to work, financial stability, or re-injury
- Sleep disruption related to pain or the trauma of the accident itself
- Low mood or frustration tied to an extended recovery
- For some patients, underlying substance use concerns that surface or worsen during a difficult recovery — something we're positioned to recognize and connect to appropriate care given our broader addiction treatment services
When anxiety, depression, PTSD, or another diagnosable mental health condition develops or worsens because of the injury, our psychiatry team can evaluate and manage medication for it directly, alongside counseling and therapy — this is different from managing medication for the physical pain itself, which stays outside our scope.
Our Approach Across All Workplace Injury Types
- A thorough medical evaluation connecting your symptoms to the mechanism of injury
- Physical therapy matched to your specific injury and job demands
- Behavioral health support offered as part of standard care, not an afterthought
- Coordination with any other provider managing pain medication or other aspects of your care
Frequently Asked Questions
Is behavioral health support only for very serious accidents?
No — it's available and appropriate for any workplace injury where the emotional impact is affecting your recovery, not just catastrophic events.
Do you treat chronic pain that developed after a workplace injury?
We evaluate and treat the musculoskeletal and functional side of chronic pain through medical evaluation and physical therapy, but we don't manage pain medication. If medication management is part of your situation, we'll coordinate with whoever is handling that.
Can you treat an injury that happened months ago and was never fully resolved?
Yes — a delayed evaluation doesn't disqualify you from thorough care, and it's often worth revisiting an injury that never fully resolved.
Whatever the injury, the same standard applies: treat the whole person, document accurately, and build a plan that gets you back — fully, not just physically.
