Accessibility Statement

Mojave Complete Recovery is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology, keyboard navigation, or other adaptive tools.

Our Commitment

We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. This is the standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice in guidance on ADA Title III web accessibility requirements, and by Section 508 for federal contractors. We audit the site regularly and fix issues as they are found.

We do not use accessibility overlay widgets. Overlays add a JavaScript layer over existing HTML but do not fix the underlying code — screen readers still encounter the same barriers. We address accessibility at the source instead.

Methods used

  • Automated axe-core scan via Playwright across all page routes at desktop (1280×800) and mobile (375×812) viewports, including interactive states (open navigation dropdowns, mobile menu, FAQ accordions, form error state)
  • Manual source-code review: landmark structure, heading hierarchy, ARIA patterns, focus-visible styles, color contrast calculations, form label associations
  • Scripted keyboard navigation via Playwright keyboard API: skip link order, tab sequence, Escape key behavior, focus visibility
  • Scripted viewport and motion tests: 320 px narrow viewport (no horizontal scroll), prefers-reduced-motion media query

Automated checks passed

The following axe-core rule IDs all returned zero violations across every route and tested state:

aria-allowed-attr, aria-conditional-attr, aria-deprecated-role, aria-hidden-body, aria-hidden-focus, aria-prohibited-attr, aria-required-attr, aria-roles, aria-valid-attr, aria-valid-attr-value, autocomplete-valid, avoid-inline-spacing, button-name, bypass, color-contrast, definition-list, dlitem, document-title, duplicate-id-aria, form-field-multiple-labels, html-has-lang, html-lang-valid, label, link-in-text-block, link-name, list, listitem, meta-viewport, nested-interactive, summary-name, target-size

Screen-reader testing (VoiceOver, NVDA) was not performed in this audit cycle. Automated results and code review cover all objectively testable WCAG 2.2 AA criteria. Screen-reader evaluation will be added in a future review.

Accessible Features

Skip Navigation

A skip link appears at the top of every page when you press Tab, letting keyboard users jump directly to the main content without tabbing through the full navigation.

Keyboard-Operable Menus

All navigation menus, dropdowns, and accordions are fully operable by keyboard. Press Escape to close any open menu. Focus order follows a logical, left-to-right reading sequence.

Visible Focus Indicators

A high-contrast teal outline (3 px, meeting the 3:1 minimum for focus indicators) appears on every focused element for keyboard and switch-access users.

Reduced-Motion Support

All animations and transitions are disabled when the operating system's prefers-reduced-motion setting is active.

Semantic Landmarks

Pages use proper HTML landmarks — header, main, footer, nav — so screen reader users can navigate by region. Each navigation landmark has a unique accessible label.

Form Labels and Error Handling

Every form field has a visible, programmatically associated label. Required fields are marked with both a visible indicator and the required HTML attribute. Submission errors are announced via role="alert" so screen readers catch them immediately.

Color Contrast

All text and UI component borders meet the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratios: 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and interface elements.

Screen Reader Compatibility

Decorative icons and images carry aria-hidden="true" so screen readers skip them. Meaningful images and icon-only buttons have descriptive accessible labels.

Known Limitations

The following third-party embeds appear on this site. Their internal accessibility is outside our direct control, and accessible alternatives are provided in each case.

  • Google Maps (Contact page)

The embedded map on our Contact page is provided by Google. Its internal interface may not be fully operable by keyboard or screen reader. The full address and directions text appear alongside the map.

  • Canva flyer (Community Wellness Day page)

The event flyer on the Community Wellness Day page is embedded from Canva. Canva embeds may not expose all content to assistive technology. A direct link to open the flyer in a new tab is provided, and all event details are also available by calling 480-818-9078 or emailing Info@MojaveCenter.com.

  • TicketStripe (event ticketing)

Tickets for Community Wellness Day are sold through an external TicketStripe page. To request accessibility accommodations or purchase tickets by phone, call us at 480-818-9078.

Feedback & Contact

If you encounter a barrier on this website — a page you cannot navigate by keyboard, a form field without a label, content that is hard to read — please let us know. We take accessibility reports seriously and will respond within two business days.
