Behavioral Health

Therapy and psychiatry, working together — not two separate appointments in two separate places.

Why We Integrate Therapy and Psychiatry

  1. The usual way

Mental health conditions are often treated by two separate, disconnected providers — a therapist for counseling and a psychiatrist for medication — who rarely communicate directly with each other.

  2. The Mojave way

At Mojave, behavioral health therapy and psychiatry are part of one coordinated program, so your counselor and your prescriber are working from the same picture of your care.

  3. Why it matters

This matters because talk therapy and medication management inform each other.

A change in symptoms noticed in a counseling session should shape a medication conversation; a medication change should be understood by the person you're talking to about your week.

The result

Keeping these connected produces better, faster outcomes than treating them as separate services.

What We Provide

Who We Treat

We work with adults managing depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma, bipolar disorder, grief and loss, major life transitions, and relationship or family difficulty — as well as patients whose mental health concerns are connected to a workplace injury, a car accident, or a co-occurring substance use disorder, coordinated directly with those parts of our practice.

How Care Begins

Every patient starts with a full evaluation to understand your history, current symptoms, and goals. From there, we build a plan that may include therapy, medication management, or both — coordinated as one program rather than referred out to separate providers who never talk to each other.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to see a psychiatrist if I just want therapy?

No — many patients receive therapy alone. Psychiatric care is added when medication is appropriate for your specific situation, not applied to every patient by default.

Is this confidential?

Yes — behavioral health records carry additional privacy protections beyond standard medical records. We're happy to walk you through exactly what that means for your situation.

What if I'm already seeing a therapist elsewhere and just need psychiatric care?

That's a common and workable arrangement — we can coordinate with your existing therapist while providing psychiatric evaluation and medication management directly.
